MIBR, Legacy clinch playoff spots at FISSURE Playground 3

MIBR and Legacy reached their groups’ upper-bracket finals at FISSURE Playground 3, securing playoff berths after MIBR beat The MongolZ and 9z and Legacy beat magic and Alliance.

MIBR and Legacy secured places in the FISSURE Playground 3 playoffs by advancing to their groups’ upper-bracket finals during the tournament’s group stage. Both teams earned automatic qualification by reaching the upper-bracket final in their respective groups.

In Group A, MIBR beat The MongolZ in the opening round and then eliminated 9z in the upper-bracket semi-final. MIBR won Mirage 13-6 after taking seven rounds on the attack and then six of seven on the CT side. They closed Nuke 13-7 after posting nine defensive rounds early. Lucas ‘nqz’ Soares led MIBR with a 1.31 series rating, and Felipe ‘insani’ Yuji recorded a 1.25 rating. 9z drops to the lower bracket to face the winner of G2 versus BIG. MIBR will play a playoff seeding match against the winner of Astralis versus BETBOOM, scheduled for Sept. 10.

In Group B, Legacy beat magic in the opening round and then defeated Alliance to advance. Legacy won Inferno 13-4 after a 9-3 lead on the CT side and four wins on the attack to finish the map. They followed with a 13-6 win on Dust2. Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto posted a 1.48 series rating, Eduardo ‘dumau’ Wolkmer a 1.44 rating and Santino ‘try’ Rigal a 1.44 rating. Alliance moves to the lower bracket and will meet either TYLOO or GamerLegion in the second round. Legacy’s seeding match is set for Sept. 10 against the winner of PARIVISION versus FURIA.

Under the event format, the two upper-bracket finalists from each group qualify for the playoffs. With MIBR and Legacy through, four playoff berths remain: one upper-bracket finalist from each group and two teams that advance from the lower brackets. Upcoming group-stage matches will decide seeding and which lower-bracket teams will fill the remaining slots.
