The Esports World Cup 2026 Counter-Strike 2 main stage begins Aug. 12 in Paris. Thirty-two teams will compete for a $2 million prize pool, with $600,000 awarded to the champion. The group stage runs through Aug. 16, and organizers scheduled 16 matches for the opening day.
Four teams on the main stage include Ukrainian players. FUT Esports, a Turkish organization featuring dem0n and cmtry, opens at 13:30 Kyiv time against TYLOO. G2, which added Ukrainian sniper r1nkle this summer, faces M80 at 15:00 Kyiv time in a best-of-one match. Ukrainian organization B8 makes its main-stage debut at 18:00 Kyiv time against PARIVISION; the lineup includes 16-year-old Danylo “s1zzi” Vynnyk, the youngest player in the CS2 group stage. Natus Vincere (NAVI) concludes the day for Ukrainian supporters at 19:30 Kyiv time against 3DMAX. NAVI’s roster includes b1t and w0nderful and is coached by B1ad3. NAVI are drawn into Group D with The MongolZ, FURIA and Wildcard.
Reigning 2025 champions The MongolZ begin their title defense against magic. Other opening-day fixtures include FaZe versus BetBoom, Vitality versus 100 Thieves, and Ninjas in Pyjamas versus Legacy.
The group stage will determine which teams advance to the playoff rounds after Aug. 16. Organizers scheduled several single-game matches in the early rounds and arranged the timetable to fit the 32-team field into the five-day group window.
The event will continue into the playoff phase after the group stage, with nearly two weeks of Counter-Strike 2 competition in Paris before a champion is decided.
