Multiple Pauses Disrupt KC-CFO Series at Worlds 2026
Karmine Corp beat CTBC Flying Oyster 2-0 at Worlds 2026 after multiple pauses disrupted Game 2, including a stoppage of nearly 30 minutes.
Multiple technical pauses interrupted Game 2 between Karmine Corp and CTBC Flying Oyster at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship on Thursday, Oct. 29. Players left their stations during the longest stoppage before KC completed a 2-0 series win.
The interruptions began about 25 minutes into Game 2, when CFO reported a possible equipment problem. Officials paused the match to investigate. Accounts of the game described five pauses, including one that lasted nearly 30 minutes. Some updates referred to a fourth pause.
A possible bug that prevented players from buying items was reported during one stoppage. CFO ADC Doggo was reportedly affected. Riot Games has not confirmed the cause of the technical problems or whether the purchasing issue caused any of the pauses.
KC ADC Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert described the repeated stoppages as mentally difficult. “So mentally it was complicated, and above all pretty unusual. […] the pauses felt like an eternity for us,” he said in an interview.
KC top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong said the longest pause lasted longer than expected. Riot allowed the players to discuss the game during the break, he explained, which helped KC regain focus when play resumed.
CFO built a lead of about 4,500 gold in Game 2 and later secured Dragon Soul. KC recovered in a series of teamfights, took Baron Nashor and completed the comeback after a fight around Elder Dragon.
The result eliminated CFO from Worlds 2026 with a 1-3 record. KC improved to 2-2 and was set to play in the final Swiss Stage round for a place in the quarterfinals.
