Vitality beat NAVI to reach PGL Bucharest semifinals

Vitality defeated Natus Vincere 2-1 at PGL Masters Bucharest, recovering from a loss on Cache to win Mirage and Dust2. The result gave Vitality a second victory over NAVI at the tournament.

NAVI chose Cache after banning the map in their previous series against Vitality two days earlier. The decision paid off as NAVI took a 7-1 lead on the terrorist side. Mihai “iM” Ivan led the attack with a 1.89 rating.

NAVI won six straight rounds after the break to close the map. The result ended Vitality’s eight-game winning streak on Cache and gave Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut his second-lowest Cache rating in Counter-Strike 2.

NAVI also won the pistol round on Mirage after three kills from Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy. Vitality responded with six rounds on the offensive side. Clutches from Justinas “jL” Lekavicius and William “mezii” Merriman helped keep the score close.

ZywOo opened the second half with three USP kills and posted a 2.61 rating on the defensive side. Vitality took control of the map, while NAVI lost an anti-eco round after a missed smoke. Vitality then closed Mirage to level the series.

Vitality led 8-4 at halftime on Dust2 after limiting NAVI’s offense. NAVI won the second-half pistol round, but ZywOo answered with three Scout kills. Vitality then won the remaining rounds to take the map and the series.

ZywOo finished with 49 kills and a 1.24 rating, the highest mark in the match. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan had 48 kills, while mezii added 35. B1t led NAVI with 43 kills and a 1.20 rating.

Vitality will face Nemiga in the semifinal on Oct. 30, according to the tournament schedule.
