Inside Team Vitality’s CS2 Empire

Team Vitality is one of the leading organizations in modern Counter-Strike. The club was founded in France in 2013 by Fabien “Neo” Devide, Nicolas Maurer, Corentin “Gotaga” Houssein, and Kevin “Brawks” Georges. Its goal was to build a serious French esports organization with teams across several competitive titles.

Before entering Counter-Strike, Vitality had already built its name in games like Call of Duty. The organization developed a strong French identity, a recognizable yellow-and-black brand, and an active fan community known as the Hive. This gave Vitality a solid base before it moved into CS.

The Evolution of Team Vitality

The Vitality CSGO story started in 2018 with a French lineup focused on ZywOo. The early plan was simple: use French experience, develop younger players, and create a system where ZywOo could have maximum impact.

Several French players were part of the project during the CS years, including apEX, RpK, shox, NBK-, ALEX, misutaaa, and Kyojin. The roster changed often as Vitality searched for the right balance between experience, structure, and individual skill.

The first major shift came when Vitality moved away from a fully French lineup. The additions of dupreeh, Magisk, and coach zonic brought experience from the Astralis dynasty. This changed Vitality from a national project into an international title contender.

That version of the team peaked at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, the final Major of CS. Vitality won the title on home soil, defeated GamerLegion in the grand final, and secured the organization’s first Major trophy. ZywOo was named MVP of the event.

The move into vitality cs2 brought another rebuild. dupreeh left and flameZ joined in 2023. Magisk and zonic later departed, XTQZZZ returned as head coach, mezii joined the roster, and ropz was added in 2025. These moves gave Vitality more pace, role flexibility, and international experience.

By 2025, the rebuild had become Vitality’s strongest period. The team was no longer just the Paris Major winner from CS. It became a dominant CS2 lineup with results across different events and tournament formats.

Team Vitality’s Championship Legacy

Team Vitality’s trophy record includes Major titles, elite arena wins, and one of the strongest CS2 runs so far. The organization won its first Major at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, then added two CS2 Major titles at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 and StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.

The Austin Major confirmed Vitality as a leading CS2 team, not only a successful late-CS roster. The Budapest Major added more weight to that run, giving the team back-to-back Major titles in one year.

There were also important individual milestones. ZywOo continued to collect MVP awards and remained the team’s main star. ropz became only the second player to win the ESL Grand Slam twice, after winning it with FaZe and later with Vitality. apEX added more weight to his legacy as an in-game leader by captaining one of the most successful CS2 rosters.

Vitality continued winning in 2026, adding titles at IEM Kraków, PGL Cluj-Napoca, BLAST Open Rotterdam, IEM Rio, and BLAST Rivals Season 1. This showed that the team’s dominance was not limited to one short event cycle.

Team Vitality Roster and Star Players

The Vitality CS2 roster 2026 is built around leadership, superstar impact, aggressive rifling, flexible roles, and late-round control. The active lineup features apEX, ZywOo, flameZ, mezii, and ropz, with Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam as head coach.

apEX is the in-game leader and one of the main voices of the team. He controls the pace, calls the system, and keeps the roster aggressive without losing structure.

ZywOo is Vitality’s main star. He gives the team elite AWP impact, strong rifling, high clutch value, and consistent output across maps. Vitality’s system is still built around giving him space to decide key rounds.

flameZ adds entry pressure and early-round aggression. He is important for creating space and forcing opponents into difficult positions. ropz brings late-round control, strong positioning, and experience from previous elite teams. mezii plays flexible roles and helps connect the star players inside the system. XTQZZZ gives the roster continuity with earlier Vitality lineups. His return helped the team move through the CS2 rebuild while keeping a clear structure.

Each player within the Vitality CS2 roster has clear roles. apEX leads, ZywOo carries, flameZ creates pressure, ropz controls late rounds, and mezii fills the flexible spaces. That balance is the main reason Team Vitality remains one of the strongest teams in CS2.
