Teamfight Manager 2 launches on Steam Early Access
Team Samoyed released Teamfight Manager 2 on Steam Early Access on May 26, a MOBA-based esports management sim whose matches resolve in an autobattler format.
Team Samoyed launched Teamfight Manager 2 into Steam Early Access on May 26, 2026. The game places players in charge of a virtual esports organisation on Steam, where they manage rosters, set tactics, handle bans and picks, negotiate contracts and enter online leagues.
Matches use a full MOBA structure with Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot and Support roles and a win condition tied to destroying an opposing Nexus. Actual fights resolve in an autobattler style: champions and player picks follow preset orders and resolve combat automatically while contesting objectives on a MOBA-style map.
Managers run scouting and signing, select lineups before matches and set in-game tactics. The game tracks individual player statistics, practice habits and a simulated ranked solo queue to represent player form. Team Samoyed built algorithmic simulations to model player form and team dynamics, and those systems feed recruitment and lineup decisions.
The sequel expands the 2021 original with dozens of new champions and returning characters, a deeper tactics system and Steam Workshop support for user-created champions, maps, teams and tournaments. At Early Access launch the developer made the core gameplay loop, the full champion roster, team management systems and an online league mode available. Team Samoyed plans regular updates to add more champions, extend management features and adjust balance using community feedback.
The launch trailer includes appearances by recognised esports figures such as IgNar and Mowgli. Community modding is highlighted as a way for players to add content and create custom competitive structures.
On Steam the game opened with mixed user reviews at release. The original Teamfight Manager from 2021 maintains a substantially more positive reception, listed at roughly 83 percent. The title appears in a growing market of esports management sims, following releases such as last year’s Esports Team Manager, which includes licensed UK teams like Bulldog and Verdant.
Team Samoyed wrote that Early Access will be used to refine balance and expand content with community input. The game is available now on Steam for players who want to test the simulation and contribute to its development.
