MIBR parts ways with academy captain stormzyn

MIBR dismissed academy captain Vitor “stormzyn” Ferreira after an in-game interaction during the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 South America Series 2 match against METANOIA Wolves on July 9, 2026. The match finished 1-2 in favor of METANOIA Wolves.

The organization released a brief statement that did not name the player or describe the incident, saying the decision “was made after an internal evaluation regarding the player’s behavior during a match.” The statement added the action “reinforces the club’s commitment to the values and conduct that guide all its representatives, both inside and outside of competitions.”

Twenty-two-year-old Ferreira posted on X to explain the interaction. He described the moment, widely identified as handling a doll on stream, as a celebratory gesture after securing an ace and wrote he would have reacted the same way with any object. “I’d have done anything that came to mind simply because I was happy and celebrating,” he wrote.

Ferreira denied links to the more serious accusations some viewers made, writing “I don’t have any thoughts related to that disgusting stuff; I hate pedophiles more than anything in this world. I stand against any kind of violence and prejudice without a second thought.” He expressed upset at the backlash and offered an apology to MIBR: “My sincere apologies to MIBR. I never imagined ending the cycle this way.”

MIBR did not specify whether the dismissal applies only to the academy roster or whether further disciplinary measures will follow. Ferreira had been serving as the academy team’s captain at the time of the match.
