BESTIA, Fluxo climb to joint-10th in Americas VRS

BESTIA claimed the title at Circuit X Curitiba in Brazil, held September 17–20, and moved into a tie with Fluxo for 10th place in the Americas Valve Ranking System. Both teams sit 14 Valve points outside the Singapore Major qualification zone.

BESTIA recorded one loss in the tournament, a 0-2 group-stage defeat to Galorys, and then won every elimination match. They beat CLANSBR twice, edged Imperial 2-1, defeated ShindeN 2-0 and closed the event with a 2-0 win over Bounty Hunters in the final. The winning run earned BESTIA 204 Valve points and André “drop” Abreu was named tournament MVP.

Reflecting after the final, drop said: “I never thought I’d win an MVP medal because of my role, but I’m happy I was able to help the team, too. At the end of the day, stats are a little bit irrelevant when you think about the success of the team. But, of course, I’m very happy to have this individual achievement, which proves that, at this early stage, I’m moving in the right direction.”

Fluxo recovered from a second-place finish to ShindeN in Group C to reach the knockout stage. They upset top seed paiN in the quarter-finals, lost to Bounty Hunters in the semi-finals and beat ShindeN in the third-place match. Fluxo’s result lifted them into a tie with BESTIA on the VRS leaderboard.

paiN gained 14 Valve points at Curitiba and remain ninth in the Americas rankings. The team will compete at FERJEE In House from September 23–27, where Imperial and Bounty Hunters are expected to be among the main challengers for the title.

BESTIA and Fluxo will pursue additional Valve points at international events next: BESTIA travel to the United States for iBUYPOWER Masters FML, and Fluxo head to Portugal for LEON.bet Masters Season 1. Both sides aim to add points that could move them into the Singapore Major qualification zone.
