Team Vitality Signs Fenritti, Launches Japanese X Account

Team Vitality signed Japanese fighting-game player Shoji “Fenritti” Sho and opened its first Japanese-language X account to reach fans and partners in Japan.

French esports organisation Team Vitality has expanded into Japan by signing Shoji “Fenritti” Sho and launching a Japanese-language X account. Fenritti qualified for the Esports World Cup in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and will compete under the Team Vitality name at upcoming events.

The new X account will publish updates in Japanese and aim to engage players, fans and commercial partners across Japan as the organisation builds a presence in the market.

Fenritti is one of Japan’s better-known fighting-game competitors and will represent Team Vitality at international tournaments where he holds qualification. Team Vitality highlighted EVO Japan as an example of a major national fighting-game event that draws thousands of participants and spectators.

Amélie Canet, Team Vitality’s chief marketing officer, described the launch as “a new milestone in Team Vitality’s international expansion,” and said the initiative, combined with signings such as Fenritti, will create partnership opportunities and strengthen ties with local communities.

Team Vitality’s main operations remain in Paris and Berlin. The organisation expanded beyond Europe during 2025 and 2026 through acquisitions, partnerships and roster additions. In 2025 the group bought Bigetron Esports, a deal that broadened its presence in mobile esports and Southeast Asia. The organisation has also released merchandise aimed at the Chinese market and formed a multi-year partnership with Paris Saint-Germain Esport to field an EA FC team under the PSG.Vitality name.

More roster and partnership moves have followed. Team Vitality partnered with Team Havok in Fortnite to place players Tino “Tjino” Shah and Albert “PabloWingu” Nyeborg on rosters that qualified for the Esports World Cup and will compete under the Team Vitality banner.

The launch of the Japanese account and the Fenritti signing come as the esports calendar includes large industry events such as Global Esports Industry Week, scheduled for June 18–21, 2026, in Cologne alongside IEM Cologne. Team Vitality’s Japan-focused activity will be part of its broader international schedule of competitions and fan engagement.
