SteelSeries extends T1 partnership to co-develop pro gear
SteelSeries signed a multi-year extension with T1 to supply headsets and to co-develop and test gear with T1’s League of Legends and VALORANT players.
SteelSeries has extended its partnership with South Korean esports organisation T1 in a multi-year agreement that keeps the company as T1’s official headset supplier and formalises collaboration on product development, testing, marketing and events. The partnership began in 2021.
Under the agreement, SteelSeries will provide peripherals to T1’s League of Legends and VALORANT teams. Professional players will take part in hardware and software testing and will provide feedback on features and performance to guide product changes.
The companies plan joint marketing campaigns, digital events, tournament support and brand activations during the contract. SteelSeries noted that software testing and iterative improvements will be informed by the demands of competitive play.
Jon Koob, Global Director of Esports at SteelSeries, stated, “We plan to support T1 in launching innovative, high-performance products and realizing their vision for the future of esports through our collaboration and exceptional creativity. As a global leader in the gaming gear industry, we take pride in creating a competitive future for gaming and look forward to celebrating continued success together both within and outside the esports sector.”
T1 CEO Joe Marsh commented, “We have partnered with SteelSeries since 2021 and have shared the most successful period in T1’s history, including three consecutive LoL World Championships. I am proud of the achievements we have accomplished together and am very pleased to extend our partnership with SteelSeries. I look forward to various future collaborations.”
The announcement follows recent commercial developments at T1, including a contract extension for Marsh through 2029, a partnership with ASUS to create co-branded Nvidia GPUs, and an operating profit of $1.6 million in 2025, the organisation’s first operating profit.
T1’s roster includes players from its championship-winning League of Legends history and active VALORANT squads. SteelSeries will use feedback from professional matches to guide hardware feature changes and software updates for both pro and consumer markets.
Global Esports Industry Week is scheduled for June 18–21, 2026, in Cologne alongside IEM Cologne, providing an opportunity for partners to coordinate product launches, event appearances and competitive showcases during the contract term.
