StarLadder S20 viewership triples; Kick claims 52% watch time

StarLadder StarSeries Season 20 recorded large increases across its core audience metrics compared with Season 19. Hours Watched and Average Viewers more than quadrupled, while peak viewers rose 246%. The grand final between Team Vitality and Aurora Gaming drew more than 315,100 peak viewers, the tournament’s single highest peak, and the upper-bracket final between the same teams ranked second by peak.

The 2026 field included several top-10 teams at the time of the event, such as Team Vitality, Aurora, FURIA and Natus Vincere. Teams represented markets in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Turkey and Brazil. Portuguese-language broadcasts saw peak viewership increase by 2,509%, and Turkish became the tournament’s second-largest language by peak viewers after having no Turkish coverage in the prior season.

Distribution broadened year over year: the number of unique channels carrying the tournament roughly doubled. Kick accounted for more than 52% of the tournament’s total Hours Watched, making it the leading platform by watch time. StarLadder’s official channel was the top-performing individual channel. Community casters Alexandre Gaules Chiqueta and Engin MAJ3R Küpeli were among the leading individual streamers.

Team Vitality defeated Aurora Gaming 3-1 in the grand final after Aurora had won the upper-bracket match. Vitality’s first-place allocation was $200,000, split evenly between player prize money and the club share. It was Vitality’s sixth tournament win of 2026. Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut was named the event’s best player, bringing his career total to 33 HLTV MVP awards.

The next major event on the calendar is ESL Pro League Season 24, scheduled for October 3-11 in Katowice, Poland. The 16-team field includes Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, Aurora Gaming, Team Falcons and Team Spirit.
