Sashi drops TjP and Hatz amid Asian project uncertainty

Sashi has parted ways with TjP and Hatz, leaving the team with two active players as Valve’s region-swapping rules cast doubt on its Asian project.

Sashi has parted ways with Australian players Tynan “TjP” Purtell and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic, leaving the organization with two active players and forcing it to reassess its Asian project.

The duo joined Sashi at the beginning of October alongside Vietnamese player Anton “Anlelele” Huynh. The Danish organization formed the lineup to improve its chances of qualifying for the Singapore Major, but Valve’s new region-swapping rules have created uncertainty around the project.

Under the rules, teams must wait three months before a region change takes effect. Valve also stated that teams that changed regions before the Singapore Major would be disqualified from the qualification process unless they received an exception. BC.Game received an exception after entering the Asian region with Tyson “asap” Paterson.

Sashi finished last at Stake Pulse Beat III and placed 17th-20th at DraculaN Season 7 with TjP and Hatz on the roster. Owner Claus “D0KT0R3N” Nielsen said the results did not lead to the decision to end the partnership.

“We had a mutual agreement, and we agreed on it now,” Nielsen said. “I got on well with Hatz and TjP, and I know they feel the same about me. They’re rock-solid guys.”

Nielsen said Sashi had contacted Valve several times for clarification but had received no response to its latest messages. Valve replied after three days when Nielsen asked for a call and directed the organization to continue by email, he added. Almost two weeks had passed without another response.

“BC.Game and Valve sorted it out in one day, so it certainly sounds like Valve is ignoring us,” Nielsen said. “I feel bad about it, because I think it should be the same for everyone. It should be in all sports. It’s preferential treatment, and that has no place in sport.”

New Zealand AWPer Michael “chelleos” Hawkins also joined the project but left before playing an official match for Sashi. Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand replaced him at Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN Season 7 and is now benched.

Sashi now has Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss and Anlelele as its only active players. The organization also has acoR, Casper “Cabbi” Jensen and Lukas “Beccie” Bauder Balcells on the bench. Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen is listed as coach.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and put together a plan for how the project should look going forward,” Nielsen said.
