Rainbow Six Siege Ranked 3.0 Removes Hidden MMR

Ubisoft removes hidden MMR in Ranked 3.0; matchmaking now uses visible rank and Ranked Points, with five placement matches, new squad limits and an RP reward track.

Ubisoft rolled out Ranked 3.0 for Rainbow Six Siege on May 18, 2026. The update removes hidden matchmaking rating and makes a player’s visible rank and Ranked Points (RP) the primary factors for lobby placement.

Under the new system, hidden MMR has been removed. Matchmaking will prioritize a player’s current ranked position and RP so the visible ladder should more closely match the lobbies players enter. Ubisoft wrote the change is intended to prevent situations where a hidden number placed players differently from their displayed rank.

Each season begins with five placement matches. Placement games provide increased RP gains and allow players to queue without pre-made squad restrictions while the system places them into a skill bracket before regular ranked play.

After placement, wins award two RP and losses award one RP. Ubisoft wrote RP gains and losses are intended to be clearer so players can see why their rank changes.

New rules limit the rank range of pre-made groups. Players from Copper through Emerald may queue with teammates within three full ranks of their own. Diamond and Champion players are limited to teammates within two full ranks. The studio described the tighter limits at higher tiers as a measure to reduce extreme skill mismatches.

The Champion division has been split into five ranks to separate top players rather than grouping them into a single bracket.

Ranked 3.0 adds a persistent rewards track tied to RP. Every ten RP grants an item such as Alpha Packs, charms, or other collectibles that players earn as they accumulate points.

Ubisoft published full details on its blog on May 18, 2026 and described the overhaul as intended to increase transparency and produce a more consistent competitive ladder for players.
