NRG upsets MOUZ 2-1, gains 129 VRS at StarSeries Fall

NRG beat MOUZ 2-1 at StarLadder StarSeries Fall, taking 129 VRS points and improving their place in the Major qualification standings. Michael “Grim” Wince called the victory a confidence boost.

NRG defeated MOUZ 2-1 on the opening day of StarLadder StarSeries Fall on Sept. 18, 2026, and collected 129 VRS points from the match. The points moved NRG upward in the VRS rankings used for Major qualification.

The victory came against a MOUZ lineup ranked near the top of the VRS list. The result was NRG’s first match at the event and produced measurable ranking gains for the team.

Michael “Grim” Wince described the outcome as a much-needed confidence boost and noted the team had entered the match confident from practice. “If we play how we do in practice, it should be fine,” he added.

On Inferno, Grim reflected, “I honestly thought we should’ve been up 12-0.” He noted Inferno had been a map they had not been tested on during North American scrims and that the team had gone undefeated on the map in practice for a month.

Dust2 included several tight 1v1 situations and clutch rounds that MOUZ won. Grim identified a late long-round on the T side as the only clear round they lost and described a CT half that featured an awkward round where MOUZ won with four Glocks against a single Galil.

The match reunited Grim with former Complexity teammate Hallzerk. Grim praised Hallzerk as “a great teammate, great person, and he’s just super energetic and positive in the game,” and noted he had recommended Hallzerk to NRG. He also pointed out the roster had limited practice earlier, including a loss in an open qualifier, before the win over MOUZ.

Grim described moments of tension the team reset from and said they focused on executing their game plan. NRG’s next match is scheduled against the winner of the Natus Vincere and Aurora matchup, and Grim added the team planned to take the event one match at a time.
