StarLadder StarSeries Fall preview: teams, schedule

StarLadder StarSeries Fall will take place Sept. 17–20 with eight teams competing in a double-elimination best-of-three bracket and a best-of-five final. The field includes direct invites MOUZ, Vitality, FURIA and Natus Vincere, and qualifiers Aurora, magic, MIBR and NRG. The event opens with four best-of-three matches on Thursday and continues through the weekend.

The opening-day schedule on Sept. 17 lists MOUZ vs NRG at 10:00, Vitality vs magic at 12:30, Natus Vincere vs Aurora at 15:00 and FURIA vs MIBR at 17:30. The bracket remains double-elimination throughout the event; every match before the final is a best-of-three series and the final is a best-of-five.

Direct invites were accepted by MOUZ, Vitality, FURIA and Natus Vincere. Aurora and magic advanced through the European qualifier. MIBR reached the event via the South American qualifier and NRG qualified from North America. The schedule is arranged so most opening matches occur on the first day, with winners and lower-bracket matches played across the following days.

The total prize pool and club share amount to $500,000. Both player share and club share follow the same distribution: $100,000 for first place, $65,000 for second, $35,000 for third, $20,000 for fourth, $10,000 for fifth and sixth, and $5,000 for seventh and eighth.

Commentary and analysis will be provided by a seven-person casting team: James “BanKs” Banks, Jason “moses” O’Toole, Adam “Dinko” Hawthorne, Alex “hawka” Hawkins, Dustin “dusT” Mouret, Neo “Ne0kai” Caine and Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg. Organizers will have staff on site to conduct interviews, capture photos and video, and post updates from the venue.

The event will run a seasonal fantasy game in partnership with the tournament’s fantasy partner. Prizes for the fantasy contest include a Shadow Daggers | Tiger Tooth (Factory New) for first place, an AK-47 | Asiimov (Minimal Wear) for second, an AWP | Redline (Field-Tested) for third, an M4A4 | The Battlestar (Minimal Wear) for fourth, and Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries (Factory New) for places five through ten.
