MOUZ sweep FURIA to reach ESL Pro League semifinals

MOUZ beat FURIA 2-0 in Katowice to reach the ESL Pro League Season 24 semifinals, extending their run to four straight series without dropping a map.

MOUZ defeated FURIA in a rematch of their Swiss-stage meeting and advanced after winning Nuke and Inferno. FURIA were more competitive than in the earlier match but failed to convert three pistol-round wins, including two on their own Nuke pick.

MOUZ led Nuke 8-4 at halftime after Oldřich “PR” Nový and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi combined for 23 kills. FURIA had a chance to recover in the second half when Adrian “xelex” Vincze came close to a 1v4 clutch. After three kills, he was stopped while planting the bomb.

Vincze responded with two Galil kills in the following round, but MOUZ won the force-buy round and kept control of the map. FURIA recovered its economy and created several opportunities, yet MOUZ found the openings needed to close Nuke in regulation.

MOUZ opened Inferno with a 6-2 lead on the Terrorist side. FURIA won three consecutive rounds and moved within one round after taking the second-half pistol. MOUZ won the next round and finished the map with a 6-0 run.

In a post-match interview, MOUZ AWPer Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás credited the team’s preparation and coach sycrone’s veto read: “Coming into today, confidence was in the camp, for sure. We had really good preparation because of the veto. I think sycrone had a really good read on the veto.”

PR led all players with 39 kills across the two maps. Spinx and torzsi had 30 each, while FURIA’s Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis finished with 33 and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato had 27.

FURIA will next compete at the Thunderpick World Championship in Malta. The team is in Group B with Legacy, PARIVISION and BETBOOM.
