MDI Midnight Global Finals Draw 174,901 Peak Viewers

The MDI Midnight Season 1 Global Finals reached a peak audience of 174,901 viewers during the Grand Final between Team Liquid and Big Lucky at BlizzCon 2026. Team Liquid won the best-of-five series 3-1 and received the $150,000 first-place prize from a total $300,000 prize pool. The event took place at the Anaheim Convention Center as part of the BlizzCon schedule.

MDI Midnight is an official Blizzard Entertainment World of Warcraft tournament. Teams race to complete high-level Mythic Keystone dungeons as quickly as possible. The season advanced from regional time trials to group stages, then to the Season 1 Finals, and concluded with the global finals in California.

The competition enforces a rule that bans certain popular class specializations as matches progress. The ban system prevents teams from repeatedly using the same builds and requires them to field a wider range of character specializations during a match.

Viewership for the Grand Final set a series record and was the first MDI event to surpass 150,000 peak viewers. English and French streams combined for more than 98% of the event’s total watch hours. Twitch accounted for over 85% of cumulative watch time.

Community casters including Zack “zackrawrr” Hoyt, Adrien “ZeratoR” Nougaret and Max “maximum” Smith broadcast the matches live. French-language watch hours could have been higher if Mandatory, led by Nougaret, had advanced to the final.

The global finals showed teams adjusting lineups under the event’s ban rules while aiming for fast dungeon clears. Team Liquid’s win completed the season’s competition.
