Leakers Claim Assassin’s Creed 1 Remake After Black Flag

Leakers Tom Henderson and j0nathan say Ubisoft is developing a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed after the Black Flag remake; Ubisoft has not confirmed the reports.

Two well-known leakers have reported that Ubisoft is developing a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed following the recently announced Black Flag remake. Ubisoft has not confirmed the reports.

Tom Henderson addressed the topic on his podcast, telling listeners: “There is another Assassin’s Creed remake in the works, one of the earlier ones. And based on Black Flag, they’ll revisit the series and see what other remakes they can do.” The remark framed the rumored project as part of a possible slate of remakes of early franchise entries.

The other source, known online as j0nathan, posted a translation of a French post and wrote that a contact in 2023 indicated the first game is the likely candidate: “heard it from a contact in 2023, normally it’s AC1.” Both figures have previously shared industry leaks.

The claims do not include development timelines, release windows or the Ubisoft studio that would lead the work. Observers have pointed to the series’ 20th anniversary in November 2027 as a possible time for an announcement or release, but no schedule has been provided. Ubisoft has not issued a statement addressing the specific claims.

The original Assassin’s Creed was released in 2007 and introduced the modern-day character Desmond Miles. The franchise has since produced multiple sequels and spin-offs. A remake of Black Flag, referred to in leaks as Black Flag Resynced, has been reported as an upcoming release.

No official materials, screenshots or confirmation have emerged to verify development on an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake. Until Ubisoft confirms a project, the reports remain unverified and are based on industry leaks. Players and observers interested in the franchise’s early entries are awaiting any official announcement from the company.
