Latto: Legacy respect Falcons but won’t be intimidated

Legacy beat reigning Major champions Falcons 2–0 at the Esports World Cup; captain Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto said the team respects Falcons but will not be intimidated as they advance to the semi-finals.

Legacy defeated reigning Major champions Falcons 2–0 at the Esports World Cup in a rematch of a previous meeting in Shanghai and advanced to the tournament semi-finals. The win followed an earlier Legacy victory over NAVI at the same event.

Captain Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto described the result as “really special,” saying the team set a clear game plan and executed it calmly. He added the victory answered critics who called the earlier win a fluke: “Everyone was saying that the first time we beat them was kind of a fluke, right? So to be able to prove that we’re also working hard and playing good CS is just incredible.”

On the maps, Legacy limited Falcons’ usual T-side approaches at key moments while Falcons adjusted by matching players to important sites. Rebelatto pointed to Falcons’ tactical change on Mirage, where they placed m0NESY in a site karrigan often defends; the Brazilian side read Legacy’s approach and altered its setup in response. Rebelatto said the match was tougher than the 2–0 scoreline suggests and credited individual plays and team coordination for opening rounds and closing the series.

New signing try had a decisive impact on the second map. Rebelatto praised the player’s performance and maturation since their time together at 00NATION, calling him “really good” and “reliable.” He said try’s form helped the team complete the series.

Legacy will meet either Vitality or Spirit in the semi-finals. Rebelatto referred to the knockout stage as the “Bracket of Death” and noted the team will be seen as underdogs again, especially if they face Vitality on home soil. He picked Vitality as the likelier challenge because of the home crowd and said Legacy will focus on their own game plan and mindset.

Rebelatto said the squad intends to stay grounded after consecutive wins and maintain the same preparation approach. On the prospect of winning the title, he said he is taking the event “step by step,” while acknowledging that leaving the tournament as champions would be a dream come true.
