Indonesia to Host IESF World Esports Championship 2026

The International Esports Federation will stage the World Esports Championship in Indonesia from Dec. 15 to 20, 2026. National teams will compete in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile and eFootball.

Organizers expect more than 500 athletes representing over 110 IESF member national federations. Competitors will represent their countries and compete for medals under national flags.

The program spans PC and mobile titles, with two long-running PC games-Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2-and three mobile competitions: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile and eFootball. Qualified players will take part on behalf of their national federations rather than club organizations.

Vlad Marinescu, president of the IESF, thanked Indonesian organizers and fans and noted: “We are grateful to our Indonesian Esports Family for their continuous dedication and support of Esports. Together we have made history, organizing the biggest esports event on a beach, in Bali 2022, and now we are sure that together we will provide the best experience and conditions for all athletes who have qualified for this event. They represent their countries and will fight for the opportunity to raise their national flag!”

Indonesia first hosted the championship in Jakarta in 2016 and hosted again in Bali in 2022. The 2026 edition will be the third time the country has held the World Esports Championship.

The IESF named Astana, Kazakhstan, as the host city for the 2027 World Esports Championship. The tournament follows the federation’s rotating schedule for national-team events.
