GamerLegion’s hypex felt more nerves at Major than Atlanta
GamerLegion AWPer Milan “hypex” Polowiec felt more nerves at the Major than in the Atlanta final after his team beat BIG 2-1 to reach Stage 2.
GamerLegion advanced to Stage 2 of the Major after a 2-1 win over BIG, and AWPer Milan “hypex” Polowiec reported feeling more nerves at the event than he did in the Atlanta final. The European team recovered from a tough Overpass comeback and secured the decider to move on from their Stage 1 pool.
Polowiec described relief after the victory and praised his teammates for quickly refocusing during tense moments. “I think I can say I feel some relief inside of my body,” he noted, adding that the squad still intends to push as far as possible in the tournament.
GamerLegion trailed at times on Overpass after losing a ninja defuse and conceding an eight-round run, but the team rallied to force overtime and ultimately win the map. They then closed out the series in the deciding match to claim the 2-1 result.
Polowiec outlined how the team handled pressure during the game. After dropping critical rounds, including a 2v1, the roster reset quickly and focused on the following round. He admitted his concentration slipped late on Overpass; when GamerLegion tied the score at 12-12, he briefly believed they had already won the first overtime round. He nevertheless praised the group’s resilience.
The progression to Stage 2 follows recent strong finishes for GamerLegion, including a top-four placement and a final appearance in Atlanta. Polowiec traced that run to months of competing in lower-tier events and extensive training at home rather than a boot camp. Across two higher-level events, the team lost only to Vitality and Natus Vincere.
On his personal form, Polowiec credited increased comfort with teammates and focused practice. He said an Animgraph update initially harmed his practice results until a later minor update improved his play. He criticized a new aim-punch effect that moves the crosshair upward when players are hit.
Looking ahead, Polowiec avoided setting firm expectations for Stage 2. With stronger teams entering the next phase, the roster plans to approach each match individually and aim for steady improvement rather than a specific placement.
