FUT sign former G2 AWPer SunPayus
FUT have signed former G2 AWPer Álvaro “SunPayus” García. The 27-year-old replaces Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov on FUT’s active roster ahead of PGL Masters Bucharest.
FUT announced the signing of former G2 AWPer Álvaro “SunPayus” García on September 16. The 27-year-old fills the active roster spot vacated by Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov.
SunPayus was benched by G2 over the summer and has not played competitively since the Cologne Major. G2 later added Artem “r1nkle” Moroz from Ninjas in Pyjamas. FUT said SunPayus will have roughly three weeks to train with the team before PGL Masters Bucharest begins on October 24; the organisation has no other tournaments on its calendar until that event.
FUT expect SunPayus to take AWP duties and serve as a secondary caller. The organisation described his AWPing as an upgrade compared with cmtry while noting his rifling output is lower.
Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov progressed through Natus Vincere’s academy, playing for NAVI Youth and NAVI Junior before the core of that roster was transferred to FUT in August 2025. One academy player, Drin “makazze” Shaqiri, remained with Natus Vincere and was promoted to their main team. Cmtry was part of FUT’s PGL Bucharest title run in April 2026 and received the event MVP. He recorded an average 1.00 rating on LAN in 2026 and was subsequently benched.
FUT’s active lineup after the change is Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko, Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija, Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç and Álvaro “SunPayus” García, with András “coolio” Fercsák as coach. Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea and Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov remain benched.
FUT will use practice and internal scrimmages in the coming weeks to integrate SunPayus into team strategies and finalise role distribution before the PGL Masters Bucharest group stage.
