FUT set to sign benched G2 AWPer SunPayus

FUT are close to signing benched G2 AWPer Álvaro “SunPayus” García; the 27-year-old is expected to take over AWP duties and could debut at PGL Masters Bucharest (Oct 24–31).
FUT are finalising the signing of benched G2 AWPer Álvaro “SunPayus” García, people with knowledge of the matter confirmed. The 27-year-old is expected to replace Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov as the team’s primary AWPer and could make his debut at PGL Masters Bucharest, scheduled for October 24–31, if registration is completed in time.
SunPayus was moved to G2’s bench in June after Artem “r1nkle” Moroz took his place in the starting lineup. He has been inactive since the roster change. Club sources describe him as an experienced AWPer who can also act as a secondary caller, and FUT tested other candidates for the role, including Henrich “sl3nd” Hevesi and Alan “flayy” Krupa.
FUT entered Counter-Strike earlier this year and made one prior signing in July, acquiring Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç from HEROIC to replace Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea, who remains on the bench. If SunPayus is registered, the expected FUT starting roster will be Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko, Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija, Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç and Álvaro “SunPayus” García, with András “coolio” Fercsák as coach.
Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov came through Natus Vincere’s academy system, playing for NAVI Youth and NAVI Junior before the core of that roster was sold to FUT in August 2025. He recorded a 1.24 tournament rating and earned an MVP award at PGL Bucharest in April 2026. Across LAN events in 2026 he has a 1.00 rating.
Club representatives are working to complete paperwork before PGL Masters Bucharest so SunPayus can be registered and take on AWPing responsibilities for the event. If the registration is accepted, he will be listed as part of FUT’s lineup for the tournament.
