yay set to return with FNS and s0m’s VCT 2027 team

Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker will join the unnamed team for the VCT 2027 Americas Kickoff Open Qualifiers, replacing Ryan “Shanks” Ngo. The roster includes Pujan “FNS” Mehta, Sam “s0m” Oh, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen and Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik.

The lineup reunites yay with FNS and Marved, his former OpTic Gaming teammates from 2022. Shanks will no longer be part of the team.

Yay’s most recent competitive appearance was with Evil Geniuses, which placed seventh-eighth in Stage 2 of VCT Americas. His addition follows about one year away from organized VALORANT competition.

FNS has confirmed that the team’s open qualifier matches and scrims will be streamed from each player’s perspective. The broadcasts will show gameplay from all five players during the team’s qualifier run.
