Esports World Cup final moved to Paris’ Accor Arena

The Esports World Cup grand final will take place at Paris’ Accor Arena on August 23 after tickets for the original final at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles sold out. Organizers expanded capacity by relocating Championship Sunday to the larger arena.

The multi-sport event will remain at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles for the preceding days. Matches, player areas, fan zones and ancillary events will continue at the Expo before the event transfers to Accor Arena for the final day.

The tournament was moved from Riyadh to Paris in May because of the Iran war. Organizers had planned to stage the Paris portion at the Expo Porte de Versailles before strong demand for the final prompted the venue change.

One headline competition at the EWC is the Counter-Strike 2 tournament. The CS2 event carries a $2,000,000 prize pool and features 32 teams, four of which qualified through a large open LAN qualifier. After group play, 16 teams advance to the playoff stage, culminating in the grand final at Accor Arena on August 23. The format and schedule otherwise remain unchanged.

After four weeks of competition across the multi-sport event, Natus Vincere lead the overall rankings. The first-place position carries a $7,000,000 payout if a team finishes there. Team Vitality sit third in the standings and Falcons are sixth.

Accor Arena previously hosted Team Vitality’s first Major victory in 2023. Organizers have advised ticket holders and teams to check official EWC communications for details on access and transit between the two venues.
