Esports World Cup CS2 dates set for Riyadh 2027, tentative 2028

Organizers scheduled the Counter-Strike 2 tournament for July 20–Aug. 1, 2027, in Riyadh with a 32-team main event and a $2 million prize pool; 2028 is tentatively set for July 14–30.
The Esports World Cup will stage its Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Riyadh from July 20 to August 1, 2027. The main event will feature 32 teams and keep a $2 million prize pool. A large open qualifier in Riyadh will take place July 16–18 at the Esports Boulevard and will award four berths to the main field.
Organizers published the slot allocation for the 32-team lineup: 20 global VRS invites, two North American VRS invites, two South American VRS invites, two Asian VRS invites, two wildcard invites and four teams advancing from the Riyadh Open Qualifier.
The schedule places qualification matches on July 16–18, with the primary competition beginning July 20 and running through August 1. The event is part of the broader Saudi Arabian Esports World Cup festival and will be held at the Esports Boulevard venue in Riyadh.
Dates for the 2028 Counter-Strike 2 tournament are tentative and currently set for July 14–30. Organizers indicated that full details on the 2028 format, invitations and qualification process will be released at a later date.
The 2027 schedule and slot breakdown follow the structure used in the most recent edition, maintaining a mix of global invites, regional VRS invites, wildcard slots and open qualification through the Riyadh Open.
