ENCE CEO Mika Kuusisto resigns; leadership goes flat

Mika Kuusisto resigned as ENCE CEO after seven years. ENCE will not name a successor and will distribute executive duties to Joona ‘natu’ Leppänen, Samuli Kaikkonen and Eemeli Ikonen.

Mika “miqaqu” Kuusisto announced his resignation as ENCE CEO on X, ending a seven-year tenure at the Finnish esports organisation.

ENCE will not appoint a new chief executive. The organisation will distribute executive responsibilities among three senior leaders: Joona ‘natu’ Leppänen will take full ownership of Content, Brand and Marketing; Samuli Kaikkonen will lead Partnerships; and Eemeli Ikonen will oversee Esports. Leppänen will join a three-person leadership group.

Kuusisto wrote on X: “To navigate recent financial headwinds, we’ve been in a massive turnaround period involving extensive restructuring. To build a leaner foundation, we are not appointing a new CEO. Instead, we’re moving to a flatter structure.” He named the three leaders who will take charge of their areas.

The leadership change follows a period of cost reductions and organisational restructuring as ENCE seeks to stabilise its finances and streamline operations.

Kuusisto will leave the organisation following the announcement. The new leadership structure takes effect immediately, according to the post.
