B8 beat The MongolZ 2-1 to clinch CS Asia playoff spot

B8 defeated The MongolZ 2-1 in Shanghai to clinch a CS Asia Championship playoff spot; Andrii ‘npl’ Kukharskyi led the decider as B8 won Mirage CT 9-1.

B8 beat The MongolZ 2-1 in the CS Asia Championships group stage in Shanghai on May 21, securing at least a quarter-final place. The result sets up a match against MIBR on May 22 for a spot in the top four. The MongolZ drop to the lower bracket and will face the winner of the 3DMAX versus Liquid match.

The series was decided in three maps. B8 took their pick, Ancient, after recovering from a 7-10 deficit to win 13-11. The MongolZ responded on Nuke, winning 13-11 as Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch posted a match-high 1.57 rating on that map. The final map, Mirage, was settled by a dominant B8 CT half; B8 won nine of the first ten rounds and closed the map 13-4.

Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi led B8 across the match and on the decider. On Mirage he recorded a 2.05 rating, 108.6 average damage per round (ADR) and a +11.62% round swing. Across the series npl had 66 kills, 46 deaths, a 99.3 ADR, a 72.9% KAST and a 1.50 overall rating. Alexey “alex666” Yarmoshchuk added 50 kills and 42 deaths with a 1.30 rating and 75.5 ADR. Danylo “s1zzi” Vinnyk posted 46 kills, 50 deaths, 67.9 ADR and a 1.04 rating. Artem “kensizor” Kapran finished even at 45 kills and 45 deaths with a 77.2 ADR and a 1.03 rating, while Dmytro “esenthial” Tsviren had 39 kills, 47 deaths, 56.6 ADR and a 0.82 rating.

The MongolZ produced notable individual numbers as well. Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar had 56 kills, 44 deaths, a 76.1 ADR and a 1.23 series rating. 910 finished the series with 61 kills, 45 deaths, an 82.3 ADR and a 1.20 rating, including the strong performance on Nuke. Ayush “mzinho” Batbold recorded 42 kills and 52 deaths with a 67.4 ADR and a 0.82 rating. Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren had 35 kills, 51 deaths, 64.3 ADR and a 0.76 rating. Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold posted 36 kills, 55 deaths, 69.2 ADR and a 0.68 rating.

B8 will meet MIBR on May 22 for a place in the tournament’s top four. The MongolZ move to the lower bracket and must win their next match to remain in the event.
