xertioN: MOUZ ‘never showed up’ at StarSeries Barcelona

MOUZ were eliminated from StarSeries Fall in Barcelona after a lower-bracket loss to FURIA. IGL Dorian “xertioN” Berman blamed poor Cache play, lack of practice and fatigue.

On day three of StarSeries Fall in Barcelona, MOUZ were knocked out after a lower-bracket loss to FURIA. The team opened the event with a loss to NRG, beat Natus Vincere in the lower bracket and then lost to FURIA, with all three series going the distance over three maps.

NRG, NAVI and FURIA each picked Cache against MOUZ and won on that map during the event. Dorian “xertioN” Berman identified Cache as a recurring problem for the squad at the tournament.

xertioN described the overall showing as poor and used the phrase ‘we never showed up.’ He blamed weak Cache play, limited practice time and fatigue. He added, “We’re still pretty confident about the philosophy of it, but we have yet to execute it properly in the game,” and noted that the coach has been working with the roster on the map’s details.

As a new in-game leader, xertioN noted he had not previously played Cache. He described the map as one that requires fine individual attention on T side and consistent default control across players.

The current roster includes two newer members, xelex and PR. xertioN explained the team is balancing responsibility for younger players with guidance from veterans and staff, and he accepted responsibility for the team’s preparation and performance in Barcelona.

xertioN cited a heavy stretch on the road before the event and said the squad needs a short reset. He indicated the team will review its preparation and recovery routines before the next event but did not announce a schedule.

On FURIA, xertioN called the Brazilian side ‘great’ and capable of strong performances when it is on. He added, “To be honest, we didn’t play our A game,” and said the team was not mentally present during the tournament.

MOUZ plan to rest briefly and then return to practice and internal adjustments focused on execution and communication under their current leadership.
