WINLINE CIS LAN Season 9 Set for Moscow With $50,000 Prize
WINLINE will host the ninth CIS LAN in Moscow on Oct. 20-23 with a $50,000 prize pool, 16 teams, GSL-style best-of-three groups and single-elimination playoffs ending in a best-of-five final.
WINLINE announced the ninth CIS LAN will take place in Moscow from Oct. 20 to Oct. 23. The event will feature 16 teams, a $50,000 prize pool and open signups for any squad listed in the global VRS standings.
The tournament begins with GSL-style best-of-three group matches to determine the eight teams that advance. Playoffs will use a single-elimination bracket, with the event concluding in a best-of-five grand final.
Prize distribution strongly favors the champion. First place receives $30,000, second place $9,000, third and fourth $4,000 each, and teams finishing fifth through eighth will receive $750 each.
The event is scheduled before the invite cut-off for PGL Major Singapore, so teams can earn VRS points that count toward Major qualification. Organizers expect competitors to use the LAN to add points to their VRS totals ahead of the invite deadline.
The previous WINLINE MPKBK CIS LAN finished on Sept. 16, when Nemiga won the title and earned 117 VRS points, moving the team up 14 places to 24th in the global standings.
Registration is open to eligible teams and organizers say final team confirmations and the full match schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
