Wildcard defeated FOKUS 2-1 in the BC Game Masters Championship Season 2 grand final in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, taking the $30,000 first-place prize after map scores of 13-7, 10-13 and 13-6.
The best-of-three final opened on Inferno, where Wildcard led 9-3 at halftime and closed the map 13-7. Nemanja “nEMANHA” Đukić led the server on Inferno with a 1.50 rating. FOKUS turned the series around on Dust2, Wildcard’s pick, winning 13-10 after Sebastian “volt” Maloș produced a 2.07-rated T side. The decider on Nuke began with FOKUS taking five straight attacking rounds, but Wildcard stabilized on their buys and recovered. Miłosz “mhL” Knasiak and Jadan “HexT” Postma led the charge to a 7-5 halftime lead and Wildcard secured the map 13-6.
HexT finished the final as the highest-rated player with a 1.37 rating, 55 kills, 35 deaths, an average damage per round (ADR) of 89.3 and a KAST of 80.6%. mhL recorded a 1.26 rating with 48 kills and an ADR of 82.6. nEMANHA, Ethan “reck” Serrano and Danny “Cxzi” Strzelczyk posted positive contributions across the series. FOKUS players with notable numbers included Georgi “Jorko” Mitev, who had 49 kills, 42 deaths, an ADR of 80.8 and a 1.04 rating, and Mateo “Matheos” Prišlin, who finished with 43 kills and an ADR of 68.5.
Wildcard reached the final after wins over Inner Circle and Acend and an earlier victory over FOKUS in the upper bracket. Final prize distribution at the event awarded $30,000 to Wildcard, $10,000 to FOKUS, $5,000 to Inner Circle and $2,000 to Acend. Sharks and Betclic each received $1,000, while Gaimin Gladiators and Rebels took $500 apiece. Two teams, Passion UA and CHAOS, withdrew during the competition.
The result affected VRS team rankings: Wildcard gained 75 points and moved from 35th to 27th, and FOKUS added 68 points to reach 33rd. Other teams that added ranking points at the event included Inner Circle (+129, to #41), OG (+99, to #55), Acend (+94, to #57), Betclic (+76, to #75), KOLESIE (+74, to #80) and Rebels (+89, to #85).
