Spirit beat FURIA 2-1 to reach Barys Arena

Spirit beat FURIA 2-1 at PGL Astana (Dust2 13-8, Overpass 12-16, Mirage 13-11) to secure a Barys Arena spot; Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets had 23 kills and a 1.58 rating on Mirage.

Spirit defeated FURIA 2-1 in the PGL Astana group stage in Astana, winning Dust2 13-8, dropping Overpass 12-16, and taking Mirage 13-11. The victory secures Spirit a place in the Barys Arena stage of the event; the team won the trophy at Barys Arena last year.

On Dust2 Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets and Dmitry ‘sh1ro’ Sokolov led Spirit in the opening exchanges. FURIA rallied to 8-11 but lost an anti-eco round and Spirit closed the map 13-8.

On Overpass FURIA built an 8-4 lead on their offensive side and forced overtime after exploiting Spirit’s CT rotations and timing on B. FURIA won the overtime period to take the map 16-12, with Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo influential in several rounds that pushed the game to OT.

Mirage was a low-scoring, error-prone map that Spirit won 13-11. Donk recorded 23 kills, 106 ADR and a 1.58 rating on Mirage. Across the series he finished with 71 kills, 48 deaths, 101.5 ADR and a 1.49 rating.

Series statistics for FURIA included Danil ‘molodoy’ Golubenko at 58-45 with 83.2 ADR and a 1.18 rating, Kaike ‘KSCERATO’ Cerato at 55-47 with 79.0 ADR and a 1.15 rating, and Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo at 37-45 with 56.9 ADR and a 0.99 rating. For Spirit, Dmitry ‘sh1ro’ Sokolov finished 42-36 with 60.1 ADR and a 1.07 rating, Andrey ‘tN1R’ Tatarinovich was 47-47 with 63.0 ADR and a 0.90 rating, Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobiev was 39-52 with 66.9 ADR, and Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotiaz was 36-50 with 56.4 ADR.

The result advances Spirit to the Barys Arena portion of PGL Astana. FURIA drop to the 2-1 pool and are scheduled to face Gentle Mates next.
