Sheep Esports buys ShiftRLE, launches Rocket League outlet
Sheep Esports acquired ShiftRLE to create Sheep Esports RL, a Rocket League news outlet backed by Michelin and staffed by former Shift personnel.
Sheep Esports has acquired ShiftRLE and launched Sheep Esports RL, a media outlet focused on Rocket League. The acquisition and a commercial partnership with tire maker Michelin will convert Shift’s coverage and roster-tracking channels into a dedicated news and editorial operation.
The outlet will publish scene coverage, transfer updates, tournament reporting and editorial pieces. Staff from the former ShiftRLE team will run the operation and use Shift’s existing social channels to reach the audience.
Michelin is providing commercial support as part of its expanding presence in Rocket League. Earlier this year Michelin became an official partner of the Rocket League Championship Series through agreements with tournament organizer BLAST and publisher Psyonix. The sponsorship for Sheep Esports RL will fund day-to-day media coverage and transfer reporting within the Rocket League community.
Both Sheep Esports and Michelin are headquartered in France. The country has an active Rocket League competitive scene with organisations and players such as Karmine Corp and Team Vitality. Sheep Esports plans to cover the French scene as well as regional and international news.
ShiftRLE was known for roster leaks, regional movement tracking and community-focused reporting. Sheep Esports was founded in 2023 by Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger and previously concentrated on League of Legends and VALORANT. The new outlet brings Michelin funding and former Shift staff into the Rocket League media space.
