Ex-LEC, LTA South Coach SeeEl Retires from LoL Coaching

Christopher “SeeEl” Lee has announced his retirement from League of Legends coaching and said he will shift his focus to technology projects in senior care. He posted the announcement on X after his departure from Vivo Keyd Stars was finalized in August 2026.

Lee wrote that he had briefly considered a return to coaching but concluded his motivation would be wounded pride rather than the passion that guided his earlier career. In his post he wrote: “Before, I had worked out of pure passion and love for competition. But this time, I realised I would be coming back out of wounded pride more than anything else.” He added, “As of today – and this time for real – I’m formally announcing my retirement from League of Legends coaching. I will not be waiting for the official offseason in October and November.”

Lee joined Vivo Keyd Stars on December 11, 2023. He led the team to the LTA South Split 3 title on September 7, 2025, beating RED Canids 3-0 to secure a spot at Worlds 2025. At Worlds the roster reached the Swiss stage, recording a win over PSG Talon before elimination by Bilibili Gaming.

In 2026 a rebuilt Vivo Keyd roster finished sixth in both the CBLOL Cup and CBLOL 2026 Split 1. On May 27, 2026, the organisation announced Lee would step down from coaching by mutual agreement and move into an ambassador role. Vivo Keyd published a formal farewell on August 27, 2026.

Lee had indicated openness to offers in late August 2026, posting that he could take full-time work for about two months but would need flexibility after that period. He explored potential returns to Brazil on stream but ultimately decided to retire from professional coaching.

Before coaching in Brazil, Lee worked in multiple regions. He coached the Chiefs in Oceania and a Golden Guardians academy side in North America, led Vitality.Bee in Europe in 2021, and joined Rogue as an assistant coach in 2022. Rogue won the LEC 2022 Split 3 final 3-0 over G2 Esports and later reached the World Championship quarterfinals. Lee also served as strategic coach for Team Heretics during the 2023 season, when the team finished fourth in the LEC Summer Playoffs.

Lee said several artificial intelligence companies contacted him and that one opportunity combining AI and robotics for senior care drew his interest. He described a personal connection to the project through his relationship with his grandmother and said the work would allow him to develop his own company while maintaining a link to esports through business activities. He closed his announcement by thanking fans for their support and noting he would share more details about his projects in future posts.
