s1zzi, npl power B8 past FUT at IEM Atlanta

B8 defeated FUT 2-0 at IEM Atlanta, eliminating the seventh-seeded FUT in 9th-12th place. B8 will meet the winner of Vitality-FaZe later for a place in the tournament playoffs.

On Ancient, FUT held the upper hand through most of the first half until B8 took the final two rounds before halftime. After the break B8 ran an 8-0 stretch on defense. During that run Andrii npl Kukharskyi and Danylo s1zzi Vinnyk combined for 24 kills and prevented FUT from stringing rounds together.

Overpass was chosen by FUT as a punish pick, but B8 opened on the CT side and built an 8-4 lead by denying FUT consecutive rounds. FUT briefly took the lead after switching to CT, but s1zzi produced late-game plays, including a 1v2 clutch that clinched the match for B8.

Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi finished with 43 kills, a 1.44 rating and 88.1 ADR. Danylo “s1zzi” Vinnyk posted 40 kills, a 1.37 rating and 80.9 ADR. Artem “kensizor” Kapran had 27 kills and a 1.05 rating, Dmytro “esenthial” Tsviri logged 30 kills and a 0.98 rating, and Alexey “alex666” Yarmoshchuk recorded 26 kills and a 0.97 rating. For FUT, Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko led with 35 kills and a 1.15 rating. Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija had 32 kills and a 0.97 rating, Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea had 29 kills and a 0.95 rating, Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius had 24 kills and a 0.88 rating, and Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov had 24 kills and a 0.86 rating.

FUT entered Atlanta after winning PGL Bucharest and participating in BLAST Rivals without Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea. FUT will depart the event placed 9th-12th and have roughly three weeks to prepare for Stage 2 of the Cologne Major.
