REZ to miss Logitech G Play Connect openers for GamerLegion

GamerLegion’s Fredrik “REZ” Sterner will miss the opening matches at Logitech G Play Connect after being hospitalized with severe food poisoning; Szymon “kRaSnaL” Mrozek will stand in.

GamerLegion will begin Logitech G Play Connect without Fredrik “REZ” Sterner after the Swedish player was hospitalized with severe food poisoning and ruled out of the opening matches on 17 September 2026. Szymon “kRaSnaL” Mrozek will replace him for the first day of competition.

The German organisation announced REZ was admitted “due to severe food poisoning” and is in hospital for checks after feeling unwell for several hours. The club said his availability for later matches will depend on his recovery and on medical checks.

kRaSnaL is currently on ENCE’s bench and last appeared competitively in April, representing Prodigy at the Gamers Assembly Festival. GamerLegion’s active lineup for the event will be Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof, Milan “hypex” Polowiec, Timur “FL4MUS” Marev and Szymon “kRaSnaL” Mrozek as the stand-in.

GamerLegion have been drawn into Group A at Logitech G Play Connect with B8, M80, Luminosity, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Metizport. The group stage begins on 17 September and will determine the top three teams from each group to advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The club’s schedule on 17 September lists several matches across the day as they begin their campaign.

This is the second consecutive event where GamerLegion have used a substitute. At FISSURE Playground 3, assistant coach Denis “Grashog” Hristov filled in for Snax after the player was unable to travel because of a damaged passport. The organisation did not provide a timetable for REZ’s return and has not released further medical details. The team will monitor his recovery ahead of the remaining group matches.
