GamerLegion reach EWC playoffs with 2-0 win

GamerLegion secured the first spot in the Esports World Cup playoffs by defeating JiJieHao 2-0, taking Dust2 13-3 and Ancient 13-8.

The Polish-led roster, captained by Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, posted a 74% round win rate across the two maps. The team began the season with a first-round exit at the Bounty event against HOTU but won its opening Esports World Cup matches to clinch an early place in the knockout stage.

On Dust2, returning rifler Timur “FL4MUS” Marev opened the match with a four-kill with the Dualies in the pistol round, followed by a multi-kill with the M4A4 and the final kill to end the map. FL4MUS recorded a 2.33 rating on Dust2 and finished the series with 39 kills, 26 deaths and 99.8 average damage per round. Sebastian “Tauson” Lindelof contributed a flying one-tap on Dust2 and a three-kill entry on Ancient, finishing the match with 30 kills, 15 deaths, 96.6 ADR and a 1.66 rating.

JiJieHao’s top performer was Aleksandar “CacaNito” Kjulukoski, who had 31 kills and a 1.20 rating. The rest of the roster posted ratings below 1.00: Bibu 0.85, m1N1 0.69, sinnopsyy 0.68 and 0SAMAS 0.67. Match events included defensive errors and missed utility from JiJieHao that GamerLegion exploited to close rounds.

On Ancient, Tauson’s triple entry and early A-site wins gave GamerLegion momentum, while FL4MUS capitalized on a missed smoke with a three-kill spray and later closed the map with a Tec-9 entry and a 1v1 clutch. Match statistics show GamerLegion players recorded higher KAST percentages and stronger damage numbers across the lineup.

After the game, FL4MUS expressed relief about his place on the roster: “I’m feeling more relieved. It’s probably my first time feeling that I’m finally back on a team and able to play CS.”

GamerLegion advance to the Esports World Cup playoff bracket and will learn their next opponent as the tournament progresses. JiJieHao return to the group stage to continue competing for a spot in the knockout rounds.
