Perfect World confirmed Shanghai will host the second Counter-Strike Major of 2027. The event is scheduled from Nov. 22 to Dec. 12 and carries an expected $1.25 million prize pool.

The tournament is planned to follow a four-stage format, subject to change if the Major format is altered, and is set for the end of the competitive year. This will be Perfect World’s second time staging a Major in Shanghai; the city previously hosted a Major in 2024, where Spirit won its first Major title after defeating FaZe in the final.

The first Major of 2027 will take place earlier in the year in Buenos Aires and will be hosted by FiReSPORTS. The two events are part of a multi-year Major schedule that includes tournaments awarded to BLAST and ESL for 2028.

Organizers have not released a full match schedule, venue assignments, ticketing information, or the final prize distribution. The $1.25 million figure is described as expected rather than finalized. Additional logistical details, including any format adjustments, are expected closer to the event.

Counter-Strike Majors are Valve-sanctioned international tournaments for professional teams. Host rights are typically awarded to regional organizers with experience running large esports events.
