paiN defeat FaZe 2-0 at IEM Atlanta

paiN defeated FaZe 2-0 at IEM Atlanta, winning Anubis 13-6 and Dust2 13-8. The Brazilian side started with Rafael “saffee” Costa in place of Lucas “nqz” Soares for the series.

On Anubis paiN opened with eight consecutive rounds on the T side. On FaZe’s pick Dust2, paiN closed the map 13-8. João “snow” Vinicius finished the series with a 1.47 rating, 36 kills and 80.2 average damage per round (ADR). Guilherme “piriajr” Barbosa posted a 1.40 rating, 33 kills and 84.7 ADR. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt recorded a 1.15 rating, while Vinicius “vsm” Moreira and Rafael “saffee” Costa posted ratings of 1.04 and 1.02.

FaZe won all four pistol rounds in the series. Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski went 7-0 across the two half-starting pistol rounds on Dust2. Every FaZe player finished below a 0.90 rating: jcobbb 0.88, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken 0.86, Helvijs “broky” Saukants 0.83, David “frozen” Čerňanský 0.79 and Ryan “Neityu” Aubry 0.78.

Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt told Tres “stunna” Saranthus after the match, “Anubis has been our best map on practice.” At halftime on Anubis, Niclas “enkay J” Krumhorn was heard on the broadcast urging teammates to “be more focused on comms.”
