paiN beats FUT 2-1 at IEM Atlanta; will face BetBoom

paiN defeated FUT 2-1 at IEM Atlanta on May 13, 2026, to advance to the Group A upper-bracket final. The match was part of Group A play in Atlanta; paiN will meet BetBoom later the same day. FUT moves to the lower bracket and will play B8 in an elimination match.

The series opened on Nuke, paiN’s pick. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt produced a 1v4 on the Terrorist side that sparked a seven-round run and helped paiN close the first half 8-4. After the break, paiN won four of five rounds to reach map point and closed Nuke. Guilherme “piriajr” Barbosa finished the map with a tournament-leading performance that carried into the series.

FUT responded on Overpass, their map pick. FUT won six first-half rounds on the T side despite dropping the pistol and the opening gun round. After the switch, the team’s defense tightened as Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius and Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko delivered strong defensive performances that helped FUT tie the series and force a decider.

Dust2 was the decider. FUT led 8-4 at halftime after a strong CT start. paiN rallied in the second half; João “snow” Vinicius recorded four kills on a B defense in the 19th round that put paiN into double digits. FUT pulled the score to 11-11 after 22 rounds, but paiN won the final two rounds to close Dust2 13-11 and seal the series.

Stat lines reflected the close contest. For paiN, Guilherme “piriajr” Barbosa finished 55-42 with an ADR of 87.3, João “snow” Vinicius was 48-45 with a 77.4 ADR, and Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt ended 39-42 with a 66.3 ADR. Rafael “saffee” Costa posted 47-39 (68.0 ADR) and Vinicius “vsm” Moreira was 31-50 (61.3 ADR). For FUT, Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius went 48-43 with a 74.0 ADR, Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko was 41-41 with a 71.9 ADR, Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija posted 48-52 with the team-high ADR of 82.5, Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov was 43-40 (65.0 ADR) and Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea finished 36-48 (60.4 ADR).

With the win, paiN advances to the Group A upper-bracket final against BetBoom; the winner of that match advances directly to the playoffs’ semi-finals. FUT moves to the lower bracket and will face B8; if FUT wins that match, they will play the loser of the Vitality–FaZe match for the final Group A playoff spot.
