NiP GM Bjorn ‘THREAT’ Pers Leaves After Declining Off-Field Role

Ninjas in Pyjamas GM Bjorn ‘THREAT’ Pers, 38, has left after declining an off-field role that would have removed his performance duties; he joined NiP in 2016 as head coach.

Bjorn ‘THREAT’ Pers, 38, has parted ways with Ninjas in Pyjamas after rejecting an off-field position earlier this year that would have removed his performance-related duties. Pers joined NiP in 2016 as head coach and later moved into the general manager role.

Pers announced the departure on X, explaining he chose to leave because he did not want to stay in a position without performance work. “Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision to part ways with NIP,” he wrote on X. “The main reason was that I didn’t want to be in a role where performance-related work wasn’t part of what I do. That’s something that matters a lot to me.”

He did not disclose specific offers or job titles he turned down. He wrote that he is considering his next steps and is open to opportunities within esports and beyond. “As for what’s next, I’m still figuring that out, whether that’s within esports or beyond it,” he added in the post.

Pers’s exit ends a multi-year tenure at NiP during which he worked in coaching and organizational leadership. He provided no timeline for any new role.
