MOUZ, Liquid eliminate NRG and 3DMAX at CS Asia

MOUZ eliminated NRG 2-1 and Liquid eliminated 3DMAX 2-1 in lower-bracket elimination matches at the CS Asia Championships, sending both NRG and 3DMAX out of the tournament. NRG fielded coach Damian “daps” Steele in place of regular starter Alexander “br0” Bro due to a family emergency.

NRG won the opening map, Ancient, 13-10. Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek led NRG’s T side with a 1.96 T-side rating and helped the team to a 7-5 lead and a CT pistol conversion. MOUZ answered on Nuke, taking an early 5-0 lead on the offense and finishing the map 13-6 after an 8-4 half. The decider on Mirage ended 13-9 for MOUZ. MOUZ closed Mirage with a decisive 2v5 anti-eco round won by Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás.

NRG’s substitute Damian “daps” Steele finished the series 25-51 with a 0.66 rating. MOUZ contributions included Spinx at 49-34 with a 1.23 rating, torzsi 46-31 with a 1.21 rating, Dorian “xertioN” Berman 46-43 with a 1.08 rating and Justinas “jL” Lekavicius 44-37 with a 1.03 rating.

In Group B’s lower bracket, Liquid took the first map, Nuke, 13-11 after leading 8-4 at halftime. 3DMAX won Liquid’s pick, Dust2, after rallying from an early CT-side deficit and converting late rounds to force a decider. The Inferno decider finished 13-11 for Liquid. Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek opened Inferno with a quad kill on the CT pistol, and Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski produced a triple kill to secure the final rounds and the match point.

3DMAX’s Bryan “Maka” Canda recorded 55-42 with a 1.23 series rating. Liquid’s top series numbers included Keith “NAF” Markovic at 56-41 with a 1.34 rating, siuhy 51-47 with a 1.24 rating, Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa 53-48 with a 1.18 rating and EliGE 49-47 with a 1.12 rating.

Both NRG and 3DMAX exit the CS Asia Championships after losses in the lower-bracket elimination round. MOUZ and Liquid advance in the lower bracket and will play further matches as the double-elimination tournament continues.
