MistR and Sashi part ways after failed Asia VRS switch

Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen and Sashi have parted ways after Valve blocked the team’s attempt to switch from Europe to Asia’s VRS region.

Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen and Sashi have mutually parted ways after the organization’s attempt to move to the Asian VRS region failed. The Danish player is now a free agent.

Sashi benched MistR and Casper “Cabbi” Jensen before signing Australian players Tynan “TjP” Purtell and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic on short-term contracts. The roster changes were intended to help Sashi move from Europe’s VRS region to Asia and improve its chances of qualifying for PGL Major Singapore later this year.

Valve rejected the regional change shortly afterward by updating the Major Supplemental Rulebook. The revised rules prevented teams from switching VRS regions through roster changes, and Sashi was removed from Major contention.

MistR confirmed the separation in a post on X and thanked Sashi, his coaches and teammates. He described the previous few days as difficult and said the split would allow him to “step away from this crazy situation and focus on what’s next.”

MistR joined Sashi before the roster changes. Cabbi remains on the bench after also being removed from the active lineup.

MistR is expected to join BBL, which entered Counter-Strike in August by signing the Echo roster. No official announcement confirming his move has been made.
