MIBR Gains Confidence After PARIVISION Win Ahead of Major
MIBR reached the CS Asia Championships semifinals in Shanghai with a 2-1 win over B8; an earlier victory over PARIVISION boosted the team’s confidence ahead of the Major.
MIBR reached the semifinals of the CS Asia Championships in Shanghai after a 2-1 win over B8, extending an unbeaten run that included earlier wins over 3DMAX and PARIVISION.
The series saw MIBR take Inferno and Ancient decisively before dropping Mirage, where the team struggled on the Terrorist side. AWPer Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev is averaging a 1.27 rating at the tournament.
Kl1m credited a long bootcamp and the win over PARIVISION with improving the squad’s confidence and testing new preparations: “It was very important because we had a long bootcamp, we worked well and we improved a lot of things. But we needed to see if they worked. And when you beat such a team, you gain a lot of confidence. And now we’re getting into every series very confidently.”
On the B8 matchup, he described the team’s performance on Inferno and Ancient as comprehensive: “They’re a good team, but I think on Inferno and Ancient we were ready for everything they did. We destroyed them, no chance. On Mirage, we struggled a bit on the T side, but it was a good series.”
Looking ahead to the Major, kl1m outlined MIBR’s immediate plan: the team will start in Stage 1 and aims to reach Stage 3 or the playoffs if they carry their current form forward. “We will start from Stage 1 in the Major, we can be in really good shape at the Major and get to Stage 3 or playoffs. I think we can do it.”
MIBR’s target in Shanghai is the event title. The other half of the bracket includes Falcons, whom kl1m identified as a strong opponent should the teams meet in the final.
