MAJ3R: Aurora targeting consistency, ignoring roster rumors

After an opening loss to HEROIC, Aurora beat The Huns and PARIVISION to reach 2-1 at PGL Astana; in-game leader Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli wrote the team is focused on consistency and the present.

Aurora recovered to a 2-1 record in group play at PGL Astana after losing its opener to HEROIC. The team beat The Huns and PARIVISION to move into the 2-1 pool at the event in Astana.

Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli, the team’s in-game leader, said in a recent interview that Aurora is working to build a stable identity. He noted players sometimes rely on momentum instead of a repeatable game plan and that the priority is to become more disciplined and reliable under pressure. “I think sometimes we rely too much on momentum instead of building a stable identity every game. The goal now is not to chase perfect CS, but to become more disciplined and reliable under pressure,” he wrote.

MAJ3R addressed outside criticism that the roster looked deflated, arguing frustration can be mistaken for low energy while the squad continues to work on mistakes.

Sometimes, frustration can look like low energy,

he said.

On offseason speculation about an international lineup, he called the chatter constant and wrote he has no confirmed information about roster plans. “I don’t have information about our future and myself, but I try to make my team play good CS every day. I’m just focusing on the present,” he said, adding that pressure can either control or motivate players.

Aurora’s results this year include losses to Vitality, Natus Vincere and MOUZ, as well as defeats to FUT, FURIA and PARIVISION. With some top teams absent from Astana, MAJ3R warned against underestimating opponents: “I never like looking at brackets and saying, ‘This team is missing, so it’s easier.’ If you underestimate teams in modern CS, you lose immediately,” he wrote.

MAJ3R wrote he prefers teams that improve during an event rather than peak early. He noted the squad has faced travel strain and logistical challenges at past events and emphasized adaptation and mental resilience. Aurora’s immediate goals are to reduce mistakes, tighten communication and build a dependable identity for the events remaining on its calendar.
