Benzema–Amine showmatch draws 78,000 peak viewers

Karim Benzema and streamer Mohamed Amine Mahmoud’s FC Pro 26 showmatch peaked at more than 78,000 viewers, nearly double last year’s 39,300 peak.
Karim Benzema and French streamer Mohamed Amine Mahmoud’s celebrity showmatch at the FC Pro 26 World Championship peaked at more than 78,000 viewers on the final day of the Esports World Cup 2026 in France.
That peak nearly doubled the roughly 39,300 peak for last year’s celebrity exhibition between Kaká and Ronaldo Nazário.
Benzema teamed with former professional FIFA player Bruce Grannec, known as Spank. Amine partnered with French esports commentator Mahmoud Gassama, known as brak2K. Benzema and Grannec won the two-versus-two match 4–0.
A viewership tracker for the event recorded the peak and reported it exceeded the audience for several playoff matches and was comparable to some competitive broadcasts. The exhibition was staged separately from the main tournament but was shown on the event streams.
The 2026 showmatch used a conventional two-versus-two format. In 2025, the celebrity match had been a one-on-one across three games with modified entertainment rules.
Organizers reported that average viewers for the FC Pro 26 World Championship increased by 14% compared with the 2025 edition and noted strong local engagement in France.
