Luciano “luchov” Herrera: Confidence Drives His Game
Luciano “luchov” Herrera posted a 2.00+ rating as 9z beat TYLOO 2-0 at ESL Pro League Season 24 in Katowice. He said his play depends on confidence but he must still contribute when it is low.
Luciano “luchov” Herrera produced a 2.00-plus rating on Mirage as 9z defeated TYLOO 2-0 in an ESL Pro League Season 24 match in Katowice on April 10, 2026. The result left 9z with a 1-1 record after two group-stage games. The team has the stated goal of reaching the playoffs and playing in the Spodek arena before leaving Poland.
Herrera’s form has fluctuated through 2026. He recorded a 1.20 rating over the first seven months of the year, earned two EVPs at PGL Astana and the XSE Pro League, and was in contention for Rookie of the Year. Since August his rating fell to 0.95 and the team experienced several early group-stage exits. The squad took a break, then worked on identifying problems after returning to competition.
“My play style really depends on confidence,” Herrera said. He explained that when the roster is connected he makes better decisions, but when the team is disjointed he tends to take more poor decisions and play with more anxiety. He added that he needs to improve so he can be useful even when his confidence is low.
The team noted opponents have increased their preparation against 9z. Herrera highlighted the effect of the break on individual rhythm and said the win over TYLOO was a sign of recovery rather than a full return to form. He said the side must perform consistently in remaining group matches to reach the playoffs.
Herrera’s role as an aggressive rifler makes changes in his confidence visible in statistics and on-map impact. 9z plans to build on the victory in Katowice and to restore the collective connection Herrera identified as affecting both his play and the team’s results.
