FURIA Eliminated From Worlds 2026 After Loss to MVK

FURIA’s Worlds 2026 run ended with a 3-1 loss to MVK Esports in the Play-In lower-bracket final on Saturday, Oct. 17. The result eliminated the Brazilian team before the Swiss Stage.

MVK took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. The Vietnamese team won Game 1 by a 21-8 kill score and Game 2 by 17-7, leaving FURIA one loss from elimination.

FURIA responded with a 21-6 win in Game 3, cutting the series deficit to 2-1. MVK closed the series in Game 4 with another 21-8 kill score.

The loss was FURIA’s second defeat to MVK at Worlds 2026. MVK swept FURIA 3-0 in the teams’ opening Play-In series on Oct. 15. FURIA then defeated Cloud9 3-1 on Oct. 16 to reach the lower-bracket final.

Before the rematch, FURIA player Guilherme “Guigo” Ruiz described the first loss to MVK as a “nightmare” in an interview and added that fans could “expect a win” in the second series. FURIA did not complete the comeback.

MVK will face Karmine Corp in the Play-In final on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. PT, 2 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. UTC. Karmine Corp defeated MVK 3-0 in the upper-bracket final. The winner of Sunday’s match will claim the final place in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage.

With FURIA eliminated, LOS is the only Brazilian team remaining at the tournament. The CBLOL 2026 Split 2 champion received a direct invitation to the Swiss Stage, which begins on Oct. 23.
