FURIA reach Thunderpick World Championship playoffs
FURIA beat Legacy 2-1 to reach the Thunderpick World Championship playoffs. Legacy will play BETBOOM on Oct. 16 for another chance to advance.
FURIA lost the opening map, Cache, 13-10, before beating Legacy 13-5 on Inferno and 13-8 on Mirage. The result sends FURIA into the playoffs and leaves Legacy with one group-stage match remaining.
Legacy led 7-5 at halftime on Cache and won the second-half pistol round to extend its advantage to 10-5. FURIA reduced the deficit to 10-8, but Eduardo dumau Wolkmer recorded an ace during a low-buy round to stop the comeback and give Legacy the series lead.
FURIA took control of Inferno after winning a force buy in the second round. Its defense recorded several opening kills, while Gabriel FalleN Toledo played in the rotator position instead of his usual support role. Legacy won several clutch rounds through Bruno latto Rebelatto and Santino try Rigal, but FURIA led 8-4 at halftime and closed the map 13-5 after another force-buy win on offense.
FURIA opened Mirage with a slow-paced attack and established an early lead. Legacy gained ground after switching to the T side, but Danil molodoy Golubenko helped FURIA regain control. FalleN then won a one-versus-two round late in the map, and FURIA completed the series with a 13-8 victory.
The match was the teams’ third meeting this season. Legacy had won the previous two at the Esports World Cup and FISSURE Playground 3. For this match, FURIA left Inferno available in the veto and selected Cache as its opening-map choice.
Kaike KSCERATO Cerato led FURIA with 42 kills and a 1.29 rating. Molodoy had 48 kills, while FalleN finished with 40. Dumau led Legacy with 45 kills and a 1.17 rating.
Legacy’s final group-stage match against BETBOOM is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026, at 17:00.
