Fragster to launch EU women’s CS2 league in summer 2026

Fragster will launch a Europe-wide women’s CS2 league with open qualifiers, two divisions and a €5,000 purse, starting in summer 2026.
Fragster has announced the CS2 EU Female Masters, a Europe-wide women’s Counter-Strike 2 league set to start in summer 2026 with open qualifiers, two divisions and a €5,000 prize pool. The format is planned as a recurring league with promotion and relegation and regular live broadcasts.
The project follows the end of the ESL Impact League, which left Europe without a steady league structure for women’s CS2. Fragster aims to reintroduce a season-based pathway that teams can follow over time.
Participation is open to cisgender and transgender women based in Europe. Players based in Russia are not eligible. Team staff such as coaches, managers and analysts are not subject to gender restrictions but cannot compete unless registered as eligible players. After qualifying, teams will complete an eligibility check. Fragster may request government-issued identification showing a female sex or gender marker and can ask for additional official or medical documents. Final approval is granted after verification.

For the debut season, Division 1 will feature either eight or twelve teams, depending on qualifier turnout. Four teams are expected to receive direct invites, with the remaining places decided through open qualifiers. Division 2 is planned for eight teams. The open qualifier is slated as single-elimination best-of-three, with a possible switch to a Swiss format if entry numbers require it.
Division 1 will run as a best-of-three round-robin. With eight teams, one group will play seven matchdays. With twelve teams, the league will split into two groups with six matchdays each. Final standings will determine playoff berths, which teams stay in Division 1, and which move to relegation or drop to Division 2.
Division 2 will be an eight-team round-robin with seven matchdays, also in best-of-three series. The top two finishers will move directly into Division 1 for the next season. Third and fourth will enter relegation matches for a chance to promote. The bottom two will be required to requalify through the open qualifier relegation path.
The first-season prize pool totals €5,000 and is paid out in Division 1. Each group-stage match carries a €90 payout. A 2-0 result pays €90 to the winner. A 2-1 result pays €60 to the winner and €30 to the loser. If Division 1 runs with eight teams, the round-robin will feature 28 matches, and planned playoff prizes are €1,240 for first, €620 for second, €370 for third and €250 for fourth. If the top division uses two groups of six teams, the group stage is expected to include 30 matches, with playoff prizes of €1,150 for first, €580 for second, €340 for third and €230 for fourth.
All Division 1 matches are planned to be broadcast live on twitch.tv/FragsterEsport with English-language coverage. Registered co-streamers are expected to receive access to a clean feed for watch parties. Division 2 will follow a more flexible approach, allowing teams and participants to stream their matches independently.
Fragster targets late July 2026 for the open qualifier and mid to late August 2026 for the start of the group stage, subject to final coordination with production and casting. Four direct invites are planned for Division 1, and organizations can apply by email. Remaining Division 1 and all Division 2 berths will be decided through the open qualifier.
Looking ahead, Fragster is planning two seasons in 2027, each with open qualifiers for Division 2, a group stage and playoffs. Final format and scheduling details will be set after the first season based on participation and feedback.
